Youth Computer Training Centres are Public Private Partnership institutes setup by the Youth Services Department in the Government of West Bengal to provide basic to intermediate level Information Technology
( IT ) training to the youth of the state. With the usage of Computers and Information Technology increasing in leaps and bounds in our everyday life, the need for quality IT Training for the educated youth is the call of the hour. Youth Computer Training Centres impart training to the student & youth not only to increase their employability but also to make them use IT in their everyday life to ease their life.
The first Youth Computer Training Centre was setup at the 5th floor of State Youth Centre, Moulali, Kolkata, which is known as the Computer Training Institute, State Youth Centre and is the most popular Youth Computer Training Centre to date. With its range of modular course structure offering Certificate, Diploma & Advanced Diploma programs in highly affordable monthly fee payment structure, Youth Computer Training Centres have been able to bridge the digital divide to a great extent.The success & popularity of the Youth Computer Training Centreshave prompted the Government of West Bengal to setup many more Youth Computer Training Centres all across the state of West Bengal. In more than the last 15 years of Youth Computer Training Centres, more than 10 lakh students have benefited out of these centres and thousands of students & youth are continuing to benefit from these centres everyday.

The Youth Computer Training Centers run by the Department of Youth
Services in collaboration with different private organizations play an
important role in providing low cost computer training to the
student-youth across the state and in enabling them to survive in the
competitive job market successfully. The computer training is catered to
in six monthly (Certificate Course) and Yearly (Diploma Course) mode.
West Bengal is on the threshold
of entering an era of industrial rejuvenation thanks to the new industrial
policy of the Govt. of West Bengal. At this juncture there will be an
increasing demand of trained technical persons capable of driving our state to the
21 Century. Day by day the industries are orienting themselves towards
automation & Computerization resulting in a huge demand of qualified
Computer Professionals. Private computer training institutes are offering
various courses to take advantage of this situation where Govt. institutes are
not enough in number to cater to this demand of Computer Training.
The Sports
& Youth Services Department (Youth Services Branch) of Govt. of West Bengal
in 1996 has come forward in this connection to help set up Computer Training
Institute to cater to the increasing needs of the Youth of WEST Bengal. Being
encouraged by the success achieved by the District Youth Computer Training Centers
the facilities of Computer Training are gradually being expanded to include the
Sub-divisional headquarters of West Bengal & also the rural areas.
